ICE HOCKEY INFO
Viikingit Hockey School is part of the Leijona Hockey School directed and supervised by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association.
ICE HOCKEY SCHOOL:
Child and adult ice skating, 2020 births and younger
In this group, children learn to skate together with an adult. There is also guided skating instruction on the ice, which children can participate in if they wish. Duration approx. 30min.

Leijona Hockey School children born in 2017, 2018 and 2019 (older children can also participate, but please contact the junior manager first)

Exercise for hockey school students 1st time per week in the gym: Mondays at 16.30-17.30 (Vuosaari Ice Hall)

At the hockey school, children practice the basics of ice hockey and ice skating through games, games and sports skills exercises under the guidance of coaches.

The prerequisite is that the child is able to skate independently from the end of the rink to the end longitudinally, i.e. skating is already familiar.

On the ice, we work in small groups.

Those who have registered will be informed about the groups and practices.

The hockey school is implemented using the Ice Hockey Association's Lion hockey school concept, and the instructors have been trained with the Lion Hockey School's instructor training.
Hockey schools organize the autumn and spring seasons:

Child and adult ice skating as well as the Lion hockey school include separate autumn and spring seasons

Both seasons include about 13 ice practice sessions.

The price of one season is 90€ and it includes a training ticket in addition to ice activities

The principal of the hockey school is the club's junior manager and the assistants are coaches from the Vikings junior ice hockey teams and the adult teams of the Vikings, as well as enthusiastic parents.

Registration takes place on the hockey school registration page and the invoice will be delivered to you automatically after registration.
Note!:In order to secure participation in the activities, the guardian must obtain the Finnish Ice Hockey Association's Hockey KIEKKOKOULUREKISTERÖINTI. Instructions can be found on the Game Pass & Insurance page.
Operating methods of hockey schools:

We will be there on time at least 15 minutes before the start of the event

Equipment::

On the ice, the minimum equipment is a CE approved hockey helmet with a face protection grid, neck guard, skates and stick. Other equipment such as hockey gloves, knee and elbow pads are also recommended, as they protect against impacts and make exercise more fun.

Skates should be sharpened before the first time. Also bring a water bottle and attach a name tag to the forehead of the helmet.

What's after hockey school?
After the hockey school ends in spring 2025, the Vikings 2018 age team will start its operations. The team will be established in April on the basis of the hockey school group of the past season, and it will be open to all children born in 2018 as well as children born in 2019 who participated in the hockey school in a manner agreed together with the club's junior manager.
